A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR ONE COMBINATION BACKHOE AND ENDLOADER FOR USE BY THE STREET DEPARTMENT,
AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL
BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) combination backhoe
and endloader for use by the Street Department of the City, having the
following specifications:
Digging Depth approximately 15 feet
Designed to change bucket sizes 24" and 30" with teeth
Engine -Diesel
Horse Power - Minimum of 52
Starting: 12 Volt Electric
Battery: 105 Amp hours
Fuel induction: Injectors (4)
Fuel Supply: Injection Pump
Ignition: Diesel Cycle
Oil Filter: Full flow type renewable cartridge
Governor: Mechanical fly weight
Lubrication: Positive Pressure
Fuel Tank: Approximately 22 gallon
Steering: Hydraulic
Brakes: Foot band/disc rear wheel, lock together for
park or travel
Final Drive: Spur gear
Tires: Front 7.50 x 16 6 ply, rear 14.9x24 - 6 ply first grade
Front axle: Rating 34,000 lbs.
Upright Muffler with rain cap
Anti Freeze Solution to 200 F
Engine speed indicator
Hour Meter and rear wheel fenders
Engine oil pressure warning lite
Generator warning lite
Heat indicator gauge
Instrument panel lite to head lamps

12V starter generator and voltage regulator
Directional signals front and rear and horn
Long lip bucket
Eight (8) speed transmission sliding spur rear with dual range
Foot pedals control backhoe swing
Hydraulic lines to be steel tubing with brazed fittings and
wire braid high pressure hose with swager fittings
Parts catalogue and instruction manual to be delivered with
tractor.
Each bidder shall state the amount of cash he will accept for
the sale to the City of the foregoing combination backhoe endloader,
and each bidder shall state the approximate amount of time required for
delivery.
SECTION 2. 'The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than
seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the
opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the
opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may
let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com-
missioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the
City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the
adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase
contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
