FOR TEN (10) PURTABLE TAPE RECORDERS AND ONE (1) TRANSCRIBER TO BE
USED IN THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY :
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to advertise for ten (10) portable tape recorders and
one (1) transcriber to be used by the Paducah Police Department, said
recorders and transcriber to have the following minimum specifications:
A minimum of 10 portables, complete with batteries and
carrying case and strap
1 transcriber with listening device
A minimum of 60 Cassettes or Tapes
Recording Media: Standard re -usable Cassettes or Tapes
A minimum recording time of 60 minutes
Frequency Range: High Fidelity, (100-8500 c.p.s.)
One hand operation
Instant listen back and re-record capability for error -free
recording
Built-in Uni-Directional Microphone
Battery life indicator
Accepts standard pre-recorded cassettes or tapes
Operates on batteries, house current or automobile lighter
A minimum 3" speaker
The transcriber should be capable of the following:
Accepts all standard compact cassettes or tapes
Scanning capability
Tapes can be completely erased after transcription
Controls and Indicators:
On switch
Cancel button
Speed, volume, and Tone Control
Eject lever
Index indicator
C-pable of rewinding, erasing, and automatically stopping

Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the above described items, including all applicable taxes.
Each bidder shall further state the amount of time required for delivery
after notification of the acceptance of any bid.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant
to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from
the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be
received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same
shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to
refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
