ORDINANCE NO. 72-8-681
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO TRACTS OF LAND
AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF 12TH AND CLAY STREETS
IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR PARK PURPOSES, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
TREASURER TO PAY THE OWNER THEREOF THE SUM OF $1,500.00 FOR SUCH
PURCHASE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City exercise its option to purchase from
Julia B. Voor, a single person, the following described tracts of land
located at the northwest corner of the intersection of 12th and Clay
Streets in Paducah, Kentucky, for park purposes, said land lying and
being in the City of Paducah and more particularly described as follows:
Tract 1.
Lot #78, Block 13, fronting 50 feet on Clay
Street and running back towards Trimble (now
Park Ave.) 165 feet to an alley. A plot of which
is recorded in D.B. 154, McCracken County Court
Clerk's office. Said lot described as follows:
Beginning at a stake on the north side of Clay
Street 50 feet from the northwest corner of
12th and Clay; thence 50 feet with North side of
Clay Street to a stake; thence at right angles
165 feet to a stake on the south side of alley;
thence with alley 50 feet; thence at right angles
165 feet to a stake, point of beginning.
Being the same property conveyed to the Lessor by
deed dated August 26, 1941, of record in Deed Book
210, page 411, McCracken County Court Clerk's office.
Tract 2.
Situated in the City of Paducah, County of McCracken
and State of Kentucky and bounded as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Clay and Twelfth
(12th) Streets; thence extending with Clay Street
towards Thirteenth Street 50 feet; thence at a right
angle and towards Trimble Street 165 feet to an alley;
thence with said alley 50 feet to Twelfth (12th) Street;
thence with Twelfth (12th) Street 165 feet to the beginning,
and being Lot No. 79 in Block 13 in Flournoy, Harris, Norton
& Trimble Addition to the City of Paducah.
Being the same property conveyed to Theresa Voor
by deed dated December 8, 1904, of record in Deed
Book 75, page 508, McCracken County Court Clerk's
office, and being the same property devised by the
Last Will and Testament of Theresa Voor to William H.
Voor by will of record in Will Book "F" page 56, McCracken
County Court Clerk's office, and being devised by the said
William H. Voor to Julia B. Voor by Will of record in Will
Book "H", page 149 in said Clerk's office.

SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to send written notice to Julia B. Voor of the City's intention to
exercise its option to purchase the above described property, and said
notice is to be forwarded in time for delivery to Julia B. Voor not
later than August 31, 1972.
SECTION 3. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay the
sum of $1,500.00 to Julia B. Voor, a single person, upon delivery of
a good and marketable general warranty deed conveying the above described
property to the City.
SECTION 4. An emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance
shall therefore be introduced and remain on file for one week for public
inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its
final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately
thereafter.
