HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 1066, No Resolution Number10 6� 1 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE SMALL COMPACT AUTOMOBILE TO BE USED BY THE CRIME SCENE UNIT OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of one small, 2 -door compact automobile to be used by the Crime Scene Unit of the Paducah Police Department, which automobile shall have the following specifications: 13 or 14 inch wheels 4 -ply, heavy duty tires (black) Seat Belts 4 -cylinder, minimum 1600 cc Full -sync. floor mounted, 4 -speed manual transmission Spare wheel and tire Dual sunvisor Backup lights Heater and defroster Color to be selected by the City Manager Standard equipment to be described fully by all bidders Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the sale to the City of the above specified automobile, including any and all applicable taxes and delivery costs, and each bidder shall state the approximate amount of time for delivery of the automobile from date of contract. Each bidder shall state all guarantees available for the automobile bid upon. Bids may be held by the City for a period not to exceed thirty days from the date of opening of same for the purpose of reviewing them, investigating qualifications of bidders and to insure that all specifications may be met. The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding, and the City shall not be obligated to purchase said automobile until the passage of an ordinance accepting the bid of the successful bidder and until a contract has been let. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
