A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH UNIFORMS FOR THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT
PERSONNEL
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and requested to advertise for bids for furnishing the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, with uniforms for the Refuse Department
personnel of said city as follows:
The successful bidder will furnish uniforms as follows:
1. Eleven (11) new uniforms for each of approximately forty (40)
employees so as to provide each employee with five (5) changes
per week.
2. Material shall be 65/35 Dacron -cotton. The colors to be selected
by the City Manager.
3. Uniforms shall be individually identified with employee's name.
Name tags will be fastened to each shirt over the right hand pocket.
These emblems to be provided by the supplier.
4. Shoulder patches will be purchased by the supplier and sold to the
city at cost. These patches will remain the property of the city.
The type of patch wanted will be specified by the City.
S. All uniforms will be kept in good repair. Any that are damaged
beyond reasonable repair will be replaced by the supplier in a
quality comparable to the others then in service. All clothing
mutilated to the extent of requiring extensive patching or cross-
stitching to repair shall be replaced with new articles.
6. When each employee us measured for uniforms, he may choose
either coveralls or pants and shirts. Uniforms shall be
identified so that each employee will get his own clothes
each week.
7. A price for pants only and shirts only shall be quoted because
the City will only pay for the actual number processed each week.
8. Employees may choose either shirts and pants or coveralls, short or
long sleeves.
9. The period of time for this service shall be two years. The City
reserves the right to add additional people during this period at
the same price and also to extend the contract for an additional
two years. If contract is extended new uniforms shall be installed
whenever present parments are two years old.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice
of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat as provided for by law.
All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour
fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by
the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening
of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let

a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com-
missioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the
City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said services
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a
purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
