HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 1020, No Resolution Number1020 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THREE GRAVEL SPREADERS FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of three (3) gravel spreaders for use in the street department, having the following specifications: Type: under tailgate Width: 84" Single avger 4 to 5" flights Hopper: 7 guage steel Cover plate: 7 guage steel End plates: 4" steel Bearings: Sealed, dust proof, self aligning-zerk fittings Spinner dia: 18" Spinner plate 3/16 steel Spinner fins - formed for low trajectory Spinner adjustment: spread left to center to right Spreading width selections: 4 ft to 40 ft. Parallel arm keeping spinner porizontal to road at all durrys angles Pump: 17 GPM three shaft gear type Spinner motor: gear type Auger motor: Orbital type Oil reservior: 7 gallons Filter: replaceable element - 33 micron Control: Dual flow, pressure compensated Separate material and spread control on/off control Relief valve Control mounting in cab Color - safety yellow 1 extra control complete - cab Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the sale to the City of the described and specified property, including any and all applicable taxes and delivery costs, and each bidder shall state the approximate amount of time for delivery of the equipment from date of contract. Each bidder shall state all guarantees available for the equipment bid upon. Bids may be held by the City of Paducah for a period not to exceed thirty days from the date of opening of bids, for the purpose of reviewing the bids, investigating qualifications of bidders and to insure that all specifications may be met. The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive informalities in the bidding, and the City shall not be obligated to purchase any equipment until the passage of an 1021 ordinance accepting the bid of the successful bidder and until a contract has been Let. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. SECTION 3.
