A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1972 STATION WAGON FOR USE BY THE PARKS
DIRECTOR, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH
PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of
one new 1972 station wagon for use by the parks director, having
the following specifications:
Minimum wheel base 118"
15 inch wheels
Full 4 -ply tires front (no 2 -ply with 4 -ply rating), rear, mud grip
Power steering
Power brakes
Air conditioning, factory installed
Package to be described in detail, to include, but not be
limited to, a heavy duty battery, a heavy duty alternator
or generator with a minimum 60 ampere rating, power front
disc brakes.
Seat belts, with automatic rullers for each
Minimum 8 passengers (rear seats)
Minimum 250 horsepower engine
Color: Light blue
Heavy duty automatic transmission
Heater and defroster
Standard equipment to be described fully
Dual sun visors
Back-up lights
Spare tire and wheel
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
Purchase of the vehicle specified above, and also the amount of such
Purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1965
Chevrolet station wagon, Serial No. 154 355 5193444, Model No. 15435,
owned by the City of Paducah at this time and in use by the parks
director.

Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to
the City officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment
offered, and shall also state the approximate length of time required
for delivery after a contract is awarded.
Bids may be held by the City of Paducah for a period not to
exceed thirty days from the date of opening of bids, for the purpose
of reviewing the bids, investigating qualifications of bidders and
to insure that all specifications may be met.
The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any and all
bids or to waive informalities in the bidding, and the City shall
not be obligated to purchase any equipment until the passage of an
ordinance accepting the bid of the successful bidder and until a
contract has been let.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant
to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the
date on which the resolution is adopted,and no bid shall be.received
after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by
the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed
with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest
responsible bidder.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
