A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PADUCAH
AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY TO ADVERTISE FOR SALE THE LIBRARY PROPERTY AT
9TH AND BROADWAY IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND DECLARING SUCH PROPERTY
TO BE SURPLUS
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Paducah Area Public
Library have acquired land for a library building to be located at
Washington Street between South 5th and South 6th Streets in the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, and
WHEREAS, the said Trustees have approved plans and have received
bids for a new library building, and
WHEREAS, the said Trustees own property at 9th and Broadway
in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, which property was formerly used
for a library building, and
WHEREAS, it may be necessary for the City of Paducah to join
with the Board of Trustees of the Paducah Area Public Library in the
conveyance of the said library property to convey a complete title.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF �y1tj ? -[CIL 9
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, finds that the library property hereinafter
described in Section 2 is surplus to the needs of the library and
that the property should be sold to provide funds for other library
purposes.
SECTION 2. That the Board of Trustees of the Paducah Area Public
Library be, and they are hereby, requested to advertise the hereinafter
described property for sale to the highest and best bidder, said
property being more particularly described as follows:
Being known as part of Block 30 in Addition "B"
and beginning at the corner of Block 30 at the
southeast corner of the intersection of Broadway
and 9th Streets; thence with the line of 9th Street
southwardly 346.5 feet, more or less, to Court Street
(now Kentucky Avenue); thence with Court Street (now
Kentucky Avenue) eastwardly toward 8th Street 121.5
feet, more or less, to the west line of the Episcopal
Church property; thence at right angles 346.5 feet,
more or less to Broadway; thence at right angles
westwardly and with the south line of Broadway 121.5
feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
SECTION 3. That the City of Paducah hereby agrees to cooperate
with the Board of Trustees of the Paducah Area Public Library toward

effecting a sale of the above described property and to subsequently
authorize the execution of a joint deed to quitclaim any right, title
or interest the City of Paducah might have in said property, provided
however, that the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah reserves
the right to reject any and all bids which may be received by the
said Board of Trustees, whether or not said Trustees resolve to accept
any bid.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
