AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES'
CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND LAST AMENDED ON DECEMBER 27, 1968
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 9 of the "Appointive Employees' Civil
Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners
on December 2, 1947, and last amended on December 27, 1968, be, and it
is hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and
reordained shall read as follows:

The Building & Electrical Inspector shall perform the duties
formerly performed'by.the Building Inspector and the Electrical
Inspector, and said Building.& Electrical Inspector.shall be under
the direct supervision.of the City Manager.
The No. l Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per
hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six
months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68 per hour, such
increases to be%:made upon recommendation of the City Manager.

The No. 2 Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per
hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of
six months the rate of pay shall be $2.38 per hour, such increases to
be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.
Maintenance Helpers shall be paid at the rate of $2.23 per hour
for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six
months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.28 per hour, such
increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.
The Janitor shall be paid at the rate of $2.00 per hour for the
first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $2.05
per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.10 per hour and at the
expiration of two years $2.15 per hour, such increases to be made upon
recommendation of the City Manager.
Assistant Janitors shall be paid at the rate of $1.70 per hour for
the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months
$1.75 per hour; at the expiration of one year $1.80 per hour and at the
expiration of two years $1.85 per hour, such increases to be made upon
recommendation of the City Manager.
Clerk -typist No. 1 shall be paid at the rate of $330.00 per month
for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months
$340.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $350.00 per month
and at the expiration of two years $360.00 per month, such increases
to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.
The Clerk -typist No. 2 shall be paid at the rate of $285.00
per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration
of six months $295.00 per month; at the expiration of one year
$305.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $315.00 per month
and at the expiration of three years $325.00 per month, such increases
to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.
The Switchboard Operator shall be paid at the rate of $275.00
per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of
six months $285.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $295.00
per month, and at the expiration of two years $305.00 per month, such
increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager."
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be i full force and effect on and
after July 1, 1969.
