HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 975, No Resolution Number975 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF A USED STREET PAVER FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for one (1) used street paver for use by the Street Department, having the following specifications: The street paver shall be of a crawler type with its spreader being adjustable from six (6) to twelve (12) foot widths and containing a heated compactor, and shall be equal I to or better than a Cedar Rapid paver No. 19418. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the paver he offers for sale, and all bidders must include all applicable taxes. Each bidder shall make the paver offered for sale available for inspection by the City Manager, the Director of Public Works and the City Engineer at no cost to the City except salaries of said employees while inspecting the paver. The bid shall provide that the paver shall be delivered to the City at any point within the City designated by the City Manager for delivery at no cost to the City. Each bidder shall state what guarantee, if any, he shall provide for the equipment offered for sale. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally 976 obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3.
