ORDINANCE NO. 69-4-198
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE AN EASEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY AND COUNTY
OF McCRACKEN, AND SOUTH CENTRAL BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTING,
OPERATING AND MAINTAINING UNDERGROUND TELEPHONE LINES AT BARKLEY FIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are
hereby, authorized and directed to execute an easement between the City
of Paducah, Kentucky and County of McCracken and South Central Bell
Telephone Company, for constructing, operating and maintaining under-
ground telephone lines at Barkley Field, which easement is more particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
"An easement ten (10) feet in width, the center
line of which easement is described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the east line of
Barkley Field, as established in the deed of
conveyance dated February 12, 1968, and
recorded in Deed Book 495, page 241, McCracken
County Court Clerk's office, which point is
South 38 degrees 43 minutes west 5.35 feet
from the common corner in the south line of the
Old Hinkleville Road of the Pearl Karnes -
Rudolph and Joe Lee Taylor property and the
property of the City of Paducah, Kentucky and
County of McCracken, Kentucky, as established
in said deed; thence from the point of beginning
across Barkley Field north 72 degrees 58
minutes 24 seconds west 341.15 feet; thence
under the proposed taxiway north 51 degrees
17 minutes west 66.00 feet; thence north 73
degrees 10 minutes 56 seconds west 311.47 feet;
thence under the extended runway north 51
degrees 17 minutes west 156.00 feet; thence
north 77 degrees 15 minutes 50 seconds west
747.55 feet to a point in the west line of
Barkley Field, as established in the aforesaid
deed, which point is south 38 degrees 43 minutes
west 5.35 feet from the south right-of-way
line of the Old Hinkleville Road.
The Grantee shall have the right of ingress and
egress to said property for the purpose of
installing, repairing and maintaining its
telephone lines agross the property of the
Grantors, but it is agreed and understood that
all telephone lines or cables installed upon
said property shall be buried, and all telephone
lines or cables intersecting runways or taxi-
ways on said airport shall be placed under said
runways or taxiways in pipe provided by the
Grantors. The Grantee shall have no right, at
any time, to either temporarily or permanently
chip, trench or cut any runway or taxiway in
installing, repairing or maintaining said
telephone lines or cables, or to interfere
or interrupt aircraft traffic using either the

runways or taxiways at said airport without
the prior permission of the Grantor.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
