ORDINANCE NO. 69-4-192
AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE NON -CIVIL SERVICE
POSITION OF FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR FOR THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT,
PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SAID POSITION AND FIXING THE RATE OF PAY
THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
n SECTION 1. That there is hereby created and established thenon-civil service position of Firearms Instructor for the Paducah Police
Department.

SECTION 2. The duties of the person holding the position of
Firearms Instructor shall be to instruct each member of the Paducah

Police Department in the use, maintenance and safety procedures
associated with all firearms and weapons used by the said department.
SECTION 3. Each person holding the position hereby created shall
be under the supervision and direction of the Chief of the Paducah Police
Department.
SECTION 4. Any person employed as Firearms Instructor for the
Paducah Police Department shall not thereby become a member of the said
police department, except and unless the names person shall be otherwise
employed by the Paducah Police Department; shall not be entitled to any
civil service benefits under any law or ordinance; and shall be subject
to removal from said position at any time by the Board of Commissioners
of said City.
SECTION 5. Any person named to occupy this position shall be paid
in the amount agreed upon between the employee and the City Manager.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption, and shall further be in effect retroactive
to January 1, 1969.
