ORDINANCE NO. 69-3-182
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 5 AND 6 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING AND REGULATING THE INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION
OF ALL ELECTRICAL WIRING AND APPLIANCES WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; ESTABLISHING THE FEES AND CHARGES
FOR MAKING ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF
AN ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF THE ELECTRICAL
INSPECTOR AND FIXING THE AMOUNT OF HIS COMPENSATION; PROVIDING THE
PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", WHICH WAS
ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON MARCH 6, 1951, AND LAST
AMENDED ON MAY 28, 1968
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sections 5 and 6 of an ordinance containing
the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners
on March 6, 1951 and last amended on May 28, 1968, be, and the same is
hereby, further amended and reordained so that said sections as
amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 5. For the purpose of carrying into effect the provisions
of this ordinance, the position of Electrical Inspector is hereby
created and established. The Electrical Inspector shall administer and
enforce all of the provisions of the Electrical Code in effect at the
time wiring is done or electrical appliances are installed, and he shall
further enforce all rules and regulations of the Power Company servicing
the City of Paducah, Kentucky, pertaining to the installation of
electrical services. He shall be a person qualified to perform the
duties required in Sections 1, 2 and 3 hereof, and in addition it shall
be the duty of the Electrical Inspector to collect and account for the
fees and charges provided in Section 6 of this ordinance.
The Electrical Inspector shall execute a bond in the sum of $1,000
for the faithful performance of his duties and the accounting of any
and all fees paid to or collected by him.
"SECTION 6. For making electrical inspections as provided in
this ordinance, there shall be charged to each person owning or having
property inspected the following rates for said service, to -wit:

(1) Fee for all types of wiring methods for
lighting or any system where sockets or
receptacles are intended to be installed
for lamp -holding devices or for the attach-
ment of small portable devices not herein
provided for.
(a) For the equipment of 10 or less such outlets $1.50
(b) For each additional outlet over 10 .10
(2) Arc lights, mercury lamps (other then
flourescent), ceiling fans and similar devices

(3) For each additional arc light, mercury lamp

SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.

apparatus, appliance or equipment operating on
voltage in excess of 100 and which is not
specifically covered herein.

For all work performed on Sundays, holidays and
after regular working hours, at request of
permittee all fees heretofore enumerated shall be
at double time rate."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
