A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE LAWN TRACTOR WITH EQUIPMENT,
FOR USE IN THE CEMETERY DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to advertise for bids for the'sale to the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, of one lawn tractor with equipment having the following
specifications:
The tractor and equipment shall be the latest or current model
and all bidders shall state the year and model on which the bid is
based.
ENGINE: To have a minimum of one (1) cylinder with four (4) cycle
and with bore and stroke being 3.50 x 3.25 inches and producing a
minimum of 14 horsepower at 3600 RPM.
SPEEDS: Forward 1/2 to 6-1/2 MPH. Reverse 1/2 to 3-1/2 MPH.
TRANSMISSION: The transmission shall consist of one lever for
selection of forward, reverse, speeds and braking without use of a clutch.
ELECTRICAL: 12 volt system with solid state, key ignition and
electrical starting equipment.
AIR FILTER: Dry type
BRAKES: The brakes shall be disc type and'shall be individually
controllable in the rear. A parking brake shall also be available.
STEERING GEAR: Enclosed.
TIRES: 2 ply with widest tread available for model on rear wheels.
MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS: Wheel base 46 inches, overall length 66 inches,
overall height 43 inches, width 43 inches.
EQUIPMENT CONTROLS: There shall be hydraulic controls for front, center
and rear mounted equipment.
The bids shall include the following allied equipment:

A center mounted cutter with cutting width of 46 inches, and a front
mounted dozer blade of 54 inches in width.
Each bidder shall furnish with his bid factory information pertinent
to the foregoing specifications.
All bidders shall state the length and term of the warranty
proposed by his firm.
Each bidder shall state a proposed delivery date provided his
bid is accepted.
The successful bidder shall furnish the purchaser two (2)
operation manuals and two (2) parts books to be delivered with the
equipment.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice
of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat not less than seven
days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All
bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour
fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by
the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall
be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to
the lowest and best bidder and the Board of Commissioners shall
reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not
become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an
ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be infull force and effect
from and after its adoption.
