HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 817, No Resolution Number817 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR PIPE AND ACCESSORIES TO BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWERS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the following pipe and accessories to be used in the construction of sanitary sewers: 10" V.C.P. C-200, 425-3 216 L.F. 8" V.C.P. C-200, 425-3 1150 L.F. 6" V.C.P. C-200, 425-3 4' lgth. 268 L.F. 6" V.C.P. C-200, 425-3 2" lgth. 12 L.F. 6" on 8" Wyes C-200,425-3 13 PCs. 6" 300 Curves C-200, 425-3 11 PCs. 8" Stopper 425-3 3 PCs. 6" Stopper 425-3 13 PCs. The City Manager is further authorized to advertise for the following items which are unavailable in the Department of Public Works or which the City Manager finds convenient to include in his request for bids: Manhole Castings 4 PCs. Bricks for Manholes 6000 Steps 16 PCs. Concrete - manhole bottoms 4 cu. yds Sand - manhole 1 ton Cement - manhole 65 bags SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of'Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said materials until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
