ORDINANCE NO. 68-11-135
AN ORDINANCE REZONING PROPERTY AT 800-802 OLD MAYFIELD ROAD
IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FROM R-3 TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE
TO A B-1 NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS ZONE
WHEREAS on August 7, 1968, the Paducah Planning Commission held
a hearing on the application for a zoning map change of the hereinafter
described property from an R-3 Zone to a B-4 Zone, and
WHEREAS after due consideration the Planning Commission denied the
application and reported its findings, and
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah has
been asked to consider the application, override the Planning Commission
and approve the application, and
WHEREAS the Board has reviewed the application and eaidence and
concurs with the Planning Commission as to a change to a B-4 zone, but
WHEREAS the Board finds that there have been major changes of an
economic, physical or social nature within the area involved which were
not anticipated in the community's comprehensive plan and which have
substantially altered the basic character of the area, or that the
original zoning classification given to the property was improper and that
a B-1 Neighborhood Business Zone classification would be proper,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISS]:ONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Paducah Zoning ordinance -1961 be amended to
change the zoning map and zoning classification of the following described
property from an R-3 Two -Family Residential Zone to a B-1 Neighborhood
Business Zone:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Goebel
Avenue with the center line of a 12 foot alley which is
contiguous to'the northeast property line of the lot of
William C. Yancy, and as the center line of said 12 foot
alley is extended into and intersects the center line of
Goebel Avenue; thence in an easterly direction to and along
the center line of the aforesaid 12 foot alley a distance of
116.23 feet, more or less (as measured along that part of the
center line of said 12 foot alley which is contiguous to the
northeast property line of the for of William C. Yancy), to
the center line of an alley 15.6 feet in width; thence in a
southerly direction along the center line of said 15.6 foot
alley a distance of 110 feet, more or less, to a point on the
line with the southerly line of the W. H. Yancy lot; thence in a
westerly direction to and along the line of the W. H. Yancy
lot a distance of 162.8 feet to the center line of the Mayfield
Road; thence in a northerly direction along the center line of
the Mayfield Road to the point of beginning.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
