ORDINANCE NO. 68-10-124
AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING
ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH
ANNEXATION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain land lying adjacent
to the west corporate limits, more particularly described hereinafter,
be annexed to the City of Paducah, and that said property so proposed
to be annexed is accurately described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the westerly side of Friedman Lane
in the present city limits line, said point being in the line
dividing the property of the herein described tract and W. E.
Lynn and being 163 feet, more or less, south of a point where
Friedman Lane angles abruptly to the left; thence south .33
degrees 03 minutes east with the westerly line of Friedman Lane
and with the present city limits line 417.8 feet to a point in
the northerly line of Dumas Fields; thence along said line
south 44 degrees 00 minutes west 643.9 feet to the northeasterly
line of the Keiler and May property; thence with said line
north 56 degrees 56 minutes west 410 feet to the southerly
line of W. E. Lynn; thence with said line north 43 degrees
40 minutes east 815.35 feet to the point of beginning in the
present city limits line at Friedman Lane.
SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described
in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat,
a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by
Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the
City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the
adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1
hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication
of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a
period of thirty days after the enactment of this ordinance.
Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110
of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders
of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty days
after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit

Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reason why said
territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
