ORDINANCE NO. 68-9-117
AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT
TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING
ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND
DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. it is hereby proposed that certain land lying adjacent
to the west corporate limits, more particularly described hereinafter,
be annexed to the City of Paducah, and that said property so proposed
to be annexed is accurately described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the south property line of Exall Street
584 feet west of the southwest intersection of Exall Street
and 46th Street; thence continuing westerly with the south property
line of Exall Street 40 feet, more or less, to a point where
the east property line of property owned by J. R. Walker and
wife, Deed Book 459, page 165, would, if extended south across
Exalt Street intersect the south property line of Exall Street;
thence in a northerly direction and with the east property line
of J. R. Walker and wife, if extended 50 feet, more or less,
to the north property line of Exall Street; thence in a westerly
direction with the north property line of Exall Street 65 feet
to the east property line of 47th Street; thence in a northerly
direction with the east property line of 47th Street 200 feet, more
or less, to Walker's northwest corner; thence in a westerly direction
parallel with Exall Street 50 feet, more or less, to the west
property line of 47th Street; thence in a southerly direction with
the west property line of 47th Street 250 feet, more or less, to the
south property line of Exall Street; thence in a westerly direction
with the south property line of Exall Street 12 feet, more or less,
to R. B. Holt and wife's west line as described in Deed Book 498
page 588; thence with Holt's west line south 16 degrees 46 minutes
west 496 feet; thence with Holt's south line south 68 degrees 12
minutes east 168 feet; thence with Holt's east line north 16 degrees
45 minutes east 502.5 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described
in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat,
a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by
Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the
City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the
adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1
hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication
of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a
period of thirty days after the enactment of this ordinance.

Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110
of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one:or more residents or freeholders
of the herein territory. proposed to be annexed may, within thirty days
after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit
Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reason why said
territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
