A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE BLOCK
BOUNDED BY KENTUCKY AVENUE, SOUTH 5TH STREET, WASHINGTON STREET AND
SOUTH 6TH STREET IN URBAN RENEWAL DOWNTOWN CIVIC CENTER PROJECT KY. R-30
WHEREAS the Urban Renewal Downtown Civic Center Project Ky. R-30
as amended and approved includes the acquisition and redevelopment
of the entire block bounded by Kentucky Avenue, South 5th Street,
Washington Street and South 6th Street; and
WHEREAS the Board of Trustees of the Paducah Area Public Library
has agreed to purchase the entire said block from the Urban Renewal and
Community Development Agency of Paducah for the concurred in price of
$175,000.00; and
WHEREAS only the Washington Street half of said block has been
completely acquired, the entire block will exceed the needs of the
library, the Library Board needs to begin development of a new library
immediately, and the local authorities agree that the library should
have its front on Washington Street; and
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah desires
that the entire block be acquired and utilized in the overall renewal
and civic center project, and
WHEREAS the said Trustees, Agency and Commissioners agree to a
revised plan for redevelopment of the property,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the block of property bounded by Kentucky Avenue,
South 5th Street, Washington Street and South 6th Street be acquired in
full by the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency as a part of
the Downtown Civic Center Project Ky. R-30 and utilized as follows:
a. The Board of Trustees of -the Paducah Area Public Library will
immediately acquire from the Urban Renewal and Community Develop-
ment Agency the Washington Street half of the said block for
$87,500.00 for library purposes, and
b. The Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency will
proceed to complete the acquisition of the Kentucky Avenue
half of said block.

c. Upon completion of the said acquisition, the Urban Renewal and
Community Development Agency will sell and the City of Paducah,
Kentucky will purchase the Kentucky Avenue half of said block
for $87,500.00, and
d. The Kentucky Avenue half will be developed as a project parking
lot with the entire block being planned and landscaped as a
unit.
SECTION 2. This Resolution is based on the joint agreements of
the said Board of Trustees, the said Agency and this Board and it shall
be in full force and effect from and after its adoption of this re-
development plan by each and every board and agency.
