ORDINANCE NO. 68-8-98
AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE PADUCAH COUNCIL
FOR THE PRESERVATION OF BUILDINGS AND ANTIQUITIES, AND PRESCRIBING
CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP AND DUTIES OF MEMBERS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created and established the Paducah
Council for the Preservation of Buildings and Antiquities for the City,
consisting of five (5) members who shall be of legal age and who
shall be residents of the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. Members of the Paducah Council for the Preservation
of Buildings and Antiquities shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject
to the approval of the Board of Commissioners. The terms of all
members shall be for two (2) years.
SECTION 3. The members of the Paducah Council for the Preservation
of Buildings and Antiquities shall serve without compensation, and the
Council shall incur no indebtedness to be paid by the City, and the City
shall not be responsible for any debts incurred by said Council.
SECTION 4. The duties of the Paducah Council for the Preservation
of Buildings and Antiquities shall be to study, investigate and
recommend plans for the preservation of buildings, antiquities and other
and all objects of historical interest, and to advise with and recommend
plans to all agencies of the City and otherwise promote public interest
in the improvement and preservation of worthwhile and valuable historical
sites and objects.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
