HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 63, No Resolution Number63 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR AN ACCOUNTING MACHINE FOR USE IN THE FINANCE OFFICE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,--KENTUCKY:' SECTION 1. That the City Manaper be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for purchase of an accounting machine for use in the Finance Office of the City of Paducah. Such machine must have the following minimum specifications: Electric typewriter section Electric multiplication and either electronic or mechanical computing functions other than multiplication Eighteen Memory totals, either electronic or mechanical Nine EMV's (unless memory totals are electronic) Equipment for programming all applications now being .handled by machine accounting in the Finance Office Mechine must be capable of completing the following accounting applications of the Finance Office: Preparation of tax bills and tax rolls or ledgers; preparation of payroll and all related functions; accounts payable and check -writing functions; and budgetary and general ledger. Each bidder must state, the price, without trade-in, and also state the trade-in allowance on the following equipment: 1 38 NCR accounting machine, SIN 5693523 1 NCR remittance machine, SIN 6027179 The successful bidder shall loan the City an accounting machine with equal or greater capabilities than the quoted machine so that the City may use such loaned machine to prepare the 1967 tax bills. The loaned machine shall be properly programmed by the successful bidder to accurately and efficiently prepaw the tax bills. The loaned machine shall be available to the City at any time after the first reading by the City Commission of the ordinance awarding the purchase contract. There shall be no charge to the City of Paducah for the loaned machine or the programming or maintenance of the machine. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder and 64 the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3.
