A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR AN END -LOADER AND BACK HOE FOR USE BY THE PARKS, PLAYGROUND AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one (1) new end -loader and back -hoe
for use by the Parks, Playground and Recreation Department, habing
the following specifications:
One Integrally designed backhoe and loader combination.
Engine - Gas Driven - not less than 38.5 horsepower with minimum
148 in displacement.
Electrical - 12 volt starter, generator and voltage regulator.
Steering - Hydrostatic power steering
Power Train - 8 speed with dual range lever, synchronized shuttle
shift and clutch.
Front End Loader - 8 ft. 7 in. dump clearance at maximum height
with 450 dump. Bucket rollback at carry
position must be a minimum 42 inches. Loader
bucket must be tread width 3/4 cubic yard S.A.E.
rating. Grading angle of bucket not less
than 1100.
Front Axle - Not less than 8,500 lbs. static rating.
Tires - Front 750 x 16, 6 ply
Rear 13.6 x 24, 6 ply
Backhoe - Digging depth of 10 feet; loading height - 11 feet; reach
from tractor rear axle - 18 feet, pry out force not less
than 18,000 lbs.; 1800 swing with cushioned stops.
Standard Equipment - The following standard equipment will be
required:
Upright muffler with rain cap - Antifreeze - Engine oil
filter - air cleaner (oil bath type) - Tachometer - Hour
meter - Engine oil pressure warning light - Generator
warning light - Engine heat indicator gauge - rear wheel
fenders - tool box - Instrument panel lights - Light Switch
Two stock mounted headlamps - Combination rear working
light and tail light - Hand and foot throttles - Easy
ride seat - Heavy duty ferrometallic clutch - Rear 12 volt
electrical outlet - Two brake pedals - Parking brake -
Safety start system.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the end -loader and backhoe he offers for sale, and also the
amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in

Parks, Playground and Recreation Department.

All bidders must include all applicable taxes, including
but not limited to Kentucky Sales Tax.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun Democrat as required by law. All bids
shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the
notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager
up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the
Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best
bidder and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to
reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally
obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
