ORDINANCE NO. 68-4-44
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF J. E. STALEY AND M. R. STALEY
d/b/a NOBLE PARK CONCESSIONS, FOR THE GRANTING OF A CONCESSION FOR
FOOD, DRINK AND REFRESHMENT IN NOBLE PARK, INCLUDING THE SWIMMING POOL,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID
CONCESSION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the bid of J. E. Staley and M. R. Staley,
d/b/a Noble Park Concessions, for the granting of a concession for
food, drink and refreshment in Noble Park, including the swimming
pool, be accepted, said bid being in the following terms:
"J.E.Staley and M.R.Staley submit a bid of $2,150.00 annually
for the concession for food and drink and refreshment in Noble
Park including the swimming pool.
"In addition to the above mentioned bid we will finish the
renovation which we have started on the large stand, which
belongs to the city, located adjacent to the parking area
which consists of glassing it in and general redecorating and
painting adding to the appearance of the building. The estimate
cost of this renovation is approximately $1,000.00. Also all
maintenance and general upkeep of the buildings will be at
our expense for the duration of the contract.
"The mode of operation will be the same as in the past. The
type of service and items sold will be generally the same as
before which consisted of two concessions in the park featuring
cold drinks, both carbonated and non -carbonated, popcorn,
sandwiches, ice-cream, cotton candy, sno-cones, coffee, candy,
cigarettes, novelties and generally the items found in most
amusement parks. The swimming pool's menu is practically the same.
"All requirements set forth in the resolution submitted to the
City Manager by the Board of Commissioners March 26, 1968 will
be adhered to."
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to enter into a contract for the granting
of a concession for food, drink and refreshment in Noble Park,
including the swimming pool, to J. E. Staley and M. R. Staley d/b/a Noble
Park Concessions for the period to and including December 31, 1969.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
