ORDINANCE NO. 68-3-31
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KAY UNIFORMS FOR THE SALE TO
THE CITY OF CLOTHING ITEMS FOR MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE
OF SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKYY
SECTION 1. That the bid of Kay Uniforms for the sale to the
City of clothing to be used by members of the Police Department be
accepted, said bid being in the following terms and figures:
Ike Jackets $36.35 each
Uniform Coat 44.45 "
Trousers - Fall & Winter 18.60 "
Trousers - Summer 15.35 "
Shirts - winter patrolman Poplin 5.25 "
Tropical 7.95 "
Shirts - winter Sgt. & above 5.25 "
Shirts - summer patrolman Poplin 5.25 "
Tropical 7.25 "
Shirts - summer Sgt. & above 4.50 "
Caps - summer patrolman 5.95 "
Caps - summer Sgt. & above 5.95 "
Caps - Winter patrolman 5.95 "
Caps - winter Sgt. & above 5.95 "
Ties 1.00 "
Additional items and prices shall be as follows:
Fechheimer custom tailored stock size uniform trousers -
For Fall & Winter 15.75 "
For Summer 13.75 "
and 9� oz. tropical three-ply permanent crease trouser 16.75 "
The above named trousers shall have keystone beltloops, snugtex
waistbands and shall be available in short, regular and long strides.
All above items are to be made to the specifications as set out in the
resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners on February 13, 1968,
and delivery is to be made immediately for stock items, and within
approximately eight weeks for tailor made uniforms and approximately
three to four weeks for caps. All prices shall be f.o.b. Nashville,
Tennessee, Terms Net Thirty (30) days.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to enter into a contract for the purchase of items set
out in Section 1 at times and in quantities as needed for the period
of one year fm m date of such contract.
SECTION 3. This contract with Kay Uniforms is made after
careful consideration for determining the lowest and best bid submitted
and by considering not only price per each item, but the approximate
quantity of each item that might be demanded, together with the quality
of merchandise, variety immediately available, and the experience of
service. This contract is also based on the recommendation of Paul
Holland, Chief of Police, Paducah Police Department, and the fact that
the City's portion of purchases per policeman is fixed to a certain
amount and any and all additional moneys paid shall be made by the
individual patrolman.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file
for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form
in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall
be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
