ORDINANCE No. 68-2-16
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN LAND FROM EDSON
HART, A SINGLE PERSON, AND BETTIE T..HART, WIDOW OF DALLAM HART, FIXING
THE PURCHASE PRICE OF SAME, AND PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS
OF SUCH PURCHASE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky purchase from Edson
Hart, a single person, and Bettie T. Hart, widow of Dallam Hart, the
following described land in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to -wit:
Beginning at a point on the south side of Jefferson
Street 403 feet east of the intersection of Jefferson
and Contest Street (now 9th Street) corner to Jacob
Weil's home place; thence at right angles with Jacob
Weil's line towards Broadway Street 165 feet to an
alley; thence at right angles west and with the alley
50 feet; thence at right angles 165 feet to Jefferson
Street; thence at right angles with Jefferson Street 50
feet to Weil's corner and the point of beginning.
Being the same property conveyed to Ruth Weil Hart by
deed dated January 12, 1920, recorded in Deed Book 123,
Page 268, and being the same property taken by Edson
Hart and Dallam Hart by the Will of Ruth Weil Hart, of
record in Will Book page , and being the same
property taken by Bettie T. Hart from the will of Dallam
Hart, of record in Will Book page , all records
being in the McCracken County Court Clerk's office.
The purchase price to be paid for the same shall be the sum of
$7,500.00, and upon receipt of a general warranty deed conveying said
land to the City of Paducah, and approved by the Corporation Counsel,
the City Treasurer is authorized and directed to pay the said Edson
Hart, a single person, and Bettie T. Hart, Widow of Dallam Hart, the
sum of $7,500.00.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file
for public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form
in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall
be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
