ORDINANCE NO. 68-2-11
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH GULF OIL CORPORATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF ALL REGULAR
AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT,
GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE FOR USE BY
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM
FEBRUARY 24, 1968, TO DECEMBER 31, 1968, and PRESCRIBING THE TERMS
AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to enter into a contract, on behalf of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, with Gulf Oil Corporation for purchase of the
following supplies for use by the City from February 24, 1968 to
December 31, 1968.
Regular gasoline, octane rating 94, tank wagon price per
gallon, $0.2550, discount $0.0588 per gallon.
Ethyl gasoline, octane rating 100 plus, tank wagon price per
gallon $0.2900, discount $0.0738 per gallon.
Motor Oil, best premium grade, detergent H.D (not to be a
fleet oil) $0.64 per gallon.
First grade, detergent H.D. $0.49 per gallon
First grade, non -detergent $0.43 per gallon.
Diesel, high detergent, $0.64 per gallon.
Hydraulic oil, $0.39 per gallon.
Motor oil in quarts, in gallon cases
Best premium grade, detergent H -D, $0.90 per gallon
First grade, detergent. H -D, $0.90 per gallon
First grade, non -detergent, $0.64 per gallon
Diesel high detergent $0.90 per gallon
Diesel fuel No. 2, tank wagon price per gallon, $0.1680,
discount $0.0485 per gallon.
Chassis lubricant, all purpose $0.1700 per pound, discount
$0.0150 per pound.
Gear Lube oil, weight 140 amd 90, in 100-120 pound drums,
$1.35 per gallon (8 lbs. per gallon), discount $0.16 per gallon.
Kerosene, $0.1780 per gallon, discount $0.0300 per gallon.

Anti -freeze, permanent type, in gallon cans, $1.50 per gallon,
discount $0.50 per gallon.
All products furnished to the City will be paid for on or
about the 15th day of the month following purchase. The City shall
also have the opportunity of taking advantage of the following
terms:
Tank wagon gasoline, net 30 days; diesel fuel, kerosene and
anti -freeze - net 30 days; and, oil and lubricants - 1/ ten days,
net 30 days. The City shall deposit $6.00 per 55 -gallon return-
able steel drum, and full credit shall be given for all returned
or exchanged drums.
The Company will furnish and install four (4) electrically
operated and metered gasoline pumps, necessary tanks and concrete
Iislands, and will furnish one (1) electrically operated and
metered diesel pump and underground tank.
All prices quoted herein shall be guaranteed against advance
.in the market price, and the Company is to guarantee a correspond-
ing reduction in price in the event of a decrease in price. How-
ever, in the event a temporary or sub -normal consumer price upon
gasoline is put into effect and such price is lower than the
established price with discount, the lower price will apply.
In the event of fire or other emergency, the Company shall
give twenty-four (24) hour emergency tank truck service to any
point in the City, seven (7) days per week.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a meeting
of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least
one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which
it shall be put upon its final passage, and shall be in full force
and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
