HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 436, Ordinance Number 68-1-2436 , / ORDINANCE NO. 68-1-2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, PROVIDING FOR COMPULSORY RETIREMENT OF ALL EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AT AGE 65, AND No REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON JUNE 15, 1965 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 and Section 2 of an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, PROVIDING FOR COMPULSORY RETIREMENT OF ALL EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AT AGE 65, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on June 15, 1965, be, and the same are hereby amended and combined to read as follows: "SECTION 1. Except as otherwise specifically set out herein, each employee of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, upon reaching 65 years of age shall be required to immediately retire from such employ- ment; however, such employment may be extended from time to time by motion adopted by the Board of Commissioners for periods not exceeding eighteen (18) months duration." SECTION 2. To the extent that any portion of Section 1 and Section 2 of the ordinance hereby amended are in conflict herewith, the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
