AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF W. L. IJAILEY AND COMPANY, INC.
OF NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,137,05.00 (BASE BID A)
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PROJECT 3 OF CONTRACT NO. 1, RELIEF SEWERS
(HUD PROJECT NO. WS -3-18-0003); AUTHORIZING THE CITY EANAGER TO
EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY, A CONTRACT FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION,
AND PRESCRIBING THE TERM'S AND CONDITIONS OF SUCH CONTRACT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COPMIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1_ That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, subject to the
conditions hereinafter set out, accept the bid of W. L. Hailey and
Company, Inc. of Nashville, Tennessee, in the amount of $1,137,485.00
(Base Bid A) for the construction of Project 3 of Contract No. 1,
Relief Sewers (HUIT Project No. WS -3-18-0003) subject to all the terms
and conditions contained in the documents on which said bidder based
its bid for construction, such documents having, been prepared by Burns
and McDonnell Enrineerinp"Company of Kansas City, Missouri, entitled
"Invitation to Bid, Specifications, Proposal, Contract and Bond Form,
Contract No. 1 - Relief Sewers, HUD Froject No. WS-3-18-000311-

S-3-18-0003".SECTION2. Acceptance of the bid of the said W. L. Hailey and
Company, Inc. as set out in Section 1 hereof, is and shall be subject
to the following conditions and provisions:
A. Proper execution of all contract documents by the bidder.
B. Sale by the City of Faducah of the peneral obligation
ponds in the amount of 4'2,r.00,000.00 authorized by the voters of
said city at the renera7 election in November, 1065, and receipt
of the proceeds from such sale.
C. Approval of the contract award r,y the Department of
Housinr and Urban Development.
D. Receipt from Illinois Central. Railroad Company of necessary
apreements .for the construction and maintenance of the sewers in
said pro,iect pertinent to its properties.
SECTION 3. Upon the approval of the Corporation Counsel of all
documents and matters in connection herewith, the City Manaper is
berebv authorized and directed to execute the necessary contract rrith
the aforesaid 'idder upon the forms provided by the aforesaid Burns
and icDonnell Enrineerinrf Companv.
SECTION h. All sums of monev to be paid to the said bidder for
the construction provided for herein shall be paid from funds derived
from the sale of the foreroinp x'2,500,000.00 reneral obligation
} and issue, and from the aforesaid J?IJD Project.
SECTION �. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on
file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed

form in which it shall he put upon its final passage, and if adopted
shall he in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
