A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITIZENS BANK AND TRUST COMPANY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO CHANGE THE BENEFICIARY OF THE LOCOMOTIVE MEMORIAL
TRUST FROM THE PARKS, PLAYGROUND AND RECREATION BOARD TO THE BOARD OF
PARK COMMISSIONERS FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, on December 27, 1962, the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah passed a resolution, now recorded in Ordinance Book 14,
page 856, which resolution was entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
PARKS, PLAYGROUND AND RECREATION BOARD OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, TO ACCEPT
FROM ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY A STEAM LOCOMOTIVE ENGINE TO BE
PLACED IN A PUBLIC PLACE, AND PROVIDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER
WHICH ACCPTANCE SHALL BE MADE", and
WHEREAS, Section 1-B of such resolution provided for the establish-
ment of a maintenance trust fund with the Citizens Bank & Trust Company
of Paducah, Kentucky, and
WHEREAS, on October 2, 1964, the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah repealed an ordinance establishing a Parks, Playground
Recreation Board, said ordinance being of record in Ordinance Book 15,
Page 395, and
WHEREAS, on October 2, 1964, the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah established by ordinance a Board Of Park Commissioners
as a successor to the Parks, Playground & Recreation Board, said final
ordinance being of record in Ordinance Book 15, page 396,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and
requested to inform the Trust Department of the Citizens Bank & Trust
Company of Paducah, Kentucky, of the fact that the Board of Park
Commissioners for the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is now the successor
of the Parks, Playground and Recreation Board of the City of Paducah,
and that the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and requested
to instruct said bank to change the beneficiary of the trust heretofore
established for the maintenance, preservation and protection of the
locomotive purchased from the Illinois Central Railroad Company and
now located in Barkley Park.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
