AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ELLIS & THOMASON, INC. IN THE
AMOUNT OF $204,300.00 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CENTRAL FIRE
STATION AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF THIRD AND
WASHINGTON STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY A CONTRACT
FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF SUCH CONTRACT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, subject to the
conditions hereinafter set out, accept the bid of Ellis & Thomason,
Inc. in the amount of $204,300.00 for the construction of a new
Central Fire Station, subject to all the terms and conditions
contained in the documents on which said bidder based its bid for
construction, such documents having been prepared by G. Anthony
Johnston & Associates -Architects & Engineers of Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. Acceptance of the bid of Ellis & Thomason, Inc. as
set out in Section 1 hereof, shall be conditioned upon the proper
execution of all contract documents by said bidder.
SECTION 3. Upon the approval by the Corporation Counsel of all
bonds and contract documents in connection herewith, the City Manager
is hereby authorized to execute said contract for and on behalf of said
City.
SECTION 4. The accepted bid constitutes a base bid of $210,000.00,
less $1,500.00 for deducting a retaining wall, $3,000.00 for deducting
glazed tile and $1,200.00 for deducting a range refrigerator combination.
The accepted bid does not include the addition of a seamless floor for
said fire station.
SECTION 5. All sums to be paid to the said Ellis & Thomason,
Inc. shall be paid from the Cumulative Public Works Reserve Fund.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on
file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed

form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted
shall be in full force and.effect ten (10) days thereafter.. i
