FOR THE PURCHASE OF NINE (9) NEW 1968 FOUR -DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES FOR
USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH
SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky
of nine (9) new 1968 four -door sedan automobiles having the following
specifications:
Minimum wheel base of 119 inches
15 inch wheels
Power steering
Heavy duty brakes
Police package to be described in detail, and to include
heavy duty generator, or alternator, 55 ampere minimum,
with dual pully and belt
Seat belts (2) with automatic rollers for front seat
Minimum 300 H.P. engine
Color: Seven automobiles black with white top and white front doors
Two automobiles conventional color (plain clothes vehicles)
Automatic transmission
Heater & defroster
Standard equipment to be described fully
Spot light furnished by the City to be installed by successful bidder
Dual sun visors
Back-up lights
Spare tire and wheel
The wiring in the overhead and through the windshield postfor
the red light on top of vehicle shall be installed at factory
Metal reinforcement plate in overhead for red light. (This
installation shall be made on all nine vehicle's)
PO Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of nine (9) vehicles specified above, and also the amount for such
purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in nine (9) police cars
as follows:

less any sirens, radios and red police lights
on the
vehicles to be traded.
Each
bidder must be capable of making delivery
of
the vehicles
between
January 1 and January
30, 1968.
Each
bidder shall state in
his bid the popular
name and model upon
which he
bids, and if requested, will exhibit
at the
City Hall to the
City Officials a similar car of the model bid
upon with the equipment
offered.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than
seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the
opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bids shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the
opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may
let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com-
missioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and the
City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption
of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
