AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF W. H. YANCY & SONS ASPHALT
PAVING COMPANY FOR SURFACING OF A PORTION OF A PARKING LOT ON THE
SOUTHWEST CORNER OF KENTUCKY AVENUE AND THIRD STREET, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH SURFACING
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, accept the bid
of W. H. Yancy & Sons Asphalt Paving Company for the surfacing of a
portion of a parking lot on the southwest corner of Kentucky Avenue and
Third Street under the following terms and conditions:
Surfacing will consist of a leveling course where necessary and
placement of approximately 2 inch application of Class I, Type B,
Bituminous concrete surfacing, conforming to Kentucky. --State Highway
specifications. The price per ton of surfacing to comply with
specifications shall be $13.30.
The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute.,
a contract for the surfacing as herein set out, and to first obtain a
performance bond from the contractor in the amount of_the.estimated cost
of the work of approximately $3,250.00 based on the estimated tons re-
quired and the bid price herein, and after obtaining from the contractor
a liability insurance policy protecting the City from any claim of
persons or property of persons in amounts equaling $300,000.00 for personal
injury or death to any one person, $500,000.00 for personal injury of
death to more than one person resulting from the same accident, and
$20,000.00'for damage to property in any one accident.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a meeting of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one (1) week for
public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its
final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten
(10) days thereafter.
