A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY PIANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE (1) CRAILER TYPE
LOADER FOR USE IN LAND FILL OPERATIONS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMIISSIOi,LRS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City P4anaper be, and he is hereby,
authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah,
Kentucky of one (1) crawler type loader having the following
specifications:
The loader shall be the latest or current model. All bidders
shall state the ,year and model his bid is based on.
ENGINE: To be full diesel, six (6) cylinder, four (4) cycle, with
a minimum piston displacement of not less than 361 cubic inches.
To have 24 volt direct electric starting system, dry type air
J cleaner with service indicator, oil and fuel filters, all standard
gages including hourmeter. Rusher type fan, hood side plates and
dry charged battery.
TRACKS: Cage to be a minimum of 66 inches, shoe width minimum

shall be 1; inches, semi -grouser type. Area of ground contact
shall he not .less than 2610 square inches.
Tracks shall have minimum of six (6) rillers (each side)
equipped with lifetime lubricated tapered roller bearings.
TRAP3j,iISSIOP?: The transmission shall be power shift or torque
converter providing at least three (3) forward and two (2) re-
verse speeds.
GUARD EQUIPP.MT: To include radiator, crankcase and transmission
guards: Full truck frame guard consisting of heavy duty truck,
wheel, idler and sprocket guards.
BUCKET: The bucket shall be what is known in the trade as a four
in one or a multi-purpose bucket. Capacity of not less than two (2)
cubic yards; S.A.E. rated and completely hydraulic controlled. The
hydraulic system and the bucket shall be capable of a breakout or
digging force of not less than 33,000 pounds. The bucket width
shall not be less than the full width of the tractor including the
tracks. Dumping height shall not be less than 103 inches. The
bucket shall be equipped with a full set of bucket teeth ;with re-
placeable tips.
COUNTERWEIGHT: The tractor shall be equipped with a counterweight
of sufficient weight to insure efficient and safe operation.
CAB: The cab shall be weatherproof, heavy gage sheet metal with
angle iron frame equipped with safety glass throughout. Cab doors

shall be .full len,Tth sliding removable or 180° swinging doors for
summer operation. The cah shall be equipped .with heater and de=
frosters of sufficient capacit.- to allow full :winter operation.
,windshield wipers shall be electric.
UEIGHT: Weight of the machine and the hour in one or multi-purpose
bucket excludin? the counterwei,pht shall not be less than 28,000
pounds.
GENERAL: The tractor shall be equipped with potter steering, power
brakes, rear mounted draw'har, chrome plated push and dump rods.
Each bidder shall .furnish with his bid factory information
pertinent to the foreroinp- specifications.
All bidders shall state the lenmth and term of the warranty
proposed by his firm.
Each bidder shall state a proposed deliver« date provided his bid
is accepted.
The successful I-)idder shall .furnish the purchaser two (2) operation
manuals and two (2) parts books to be delivered with the equipment.
Each 'cidder shall state the amount hid on the specified equipment
less the amount offered for the trade-in tractor.
Offered for trade-in is one (1) 1958 model, TD 14A International
tractor, equipped with a Pull -Clam, metal cat, heater and windshield
wipers. The trade-in may Le seen in operation between the hours of
7:30 A.!.. and 3:30 P.7. C.S.T. at the Cite land fill operation located
at the end of horthview Street near Gth Street.
SECTION 2_- The Cit»i-tanager shall advertise for eealed rids
by postinf a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat not less than seven days nor
more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids shall
he sealed and no l,id shall be received after the hour .fixed in the
notice for the openirf of same. All bids received uy the City I.aanaFer
up to the time fixed .for the opening of same shall be :filed with the
Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and 'nest
bidder and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the ri7ht to
re;ect anv and all Lids and the City shall not become legally obligated
to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing_
the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. ThisResolution shall be in full .force and effect
from and after its adoption..
