A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF LI MESTONE TO BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PORTION
OF A PARKING LOT ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF KENTUCKY AVENUE AND THIRD
STREET
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Cit y Manager be and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for approximately 720 tons of dense graded limestone
meeting Kentucky State Highway specifications to be used in the construc-
tion of a portion of a parking lot on the southwest corner of Kentucky
Avenue and Third Street. Bid price shall be per ton f.o.b. the con-
struction site. The limestone is to be delivered as ordered by collect
telephone call to the successful bidder, in one hundred ton lots or
more, and the successful bidder is to guarantee to start delivery within
twenty-four hours .after notification, and continue until the required
amount has been delivered.
The successful bidder may be required to furnish representative
samples of any and all items and all weights of delivered material must
be certified from some accurate scales in or near the City of Paducah
at the expense of the successful bidder.
All bids shall provide a quarantee against advance in market price
and shall guarantee a reduction in prnce in the event of a decrease in
market price. The successful bidder shall post a performance bond in the
sum of $1,000.00 guaranteeing specifications and delivery. The City
reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the lowest
and best bid.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the re-
quest for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven (7)
days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the
opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids
received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the
opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may
let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com-
missioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the

City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption
of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
