AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING
ADJACENT TO THE NORTHWEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED
TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH
ANNEXATION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain land lying
adjacent to the northwest corporate limits, more particularly described
hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah, and that said property
so proposed to be annexed is accurately described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the present city limits line said
point being in the northeast corner of the intersection of
Phillips Avenue and Lester Avenue; thence in a northerly direc-
tion and with the east line of Lester Avenue 239.0 feet; thence
easterly parallel with Phillips Avenue 750 feet more or less to
the west line of property owned by William E. Roetteis, Deed Book
436, page 387, July 26, 1962; thence northerly and with Roetties
west line 20.3 feet more or less to Roetteis' northwest corner
and the southwest corner of the Hazel Paxton property; thence
in an easterly direction with the dividing line between Roetteis
and Paxton, 100 feet to the present city limits line; thence
southerly with the present city limits line 259.3 feet to the
north line of Phillips Avenue; thence westerly with the present
city limits line and the north line of Phillips Avenue 850 feet
more or less to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described
in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat,
a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by
Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the
City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the
adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1
hereof, and such ordinance shall not be acb pted until after publication
of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a
period of thirty days after the enactment of this ordinance.
Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110
of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders
of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty days
after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit
Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reason why said
territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
