HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 1154, No Resolution Number1154 / A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO FILE AN AMENDMENT TO AN APPLICATION FOR AN URBAN BEAUTIFICATION AND IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, WHICH APPLICATION WAS ORIGINALLY AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTION DATED MARCH 25, 1969 WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah on March 25, 1969, authorized the execution of an application for an urban beautification and improvement program with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and WHEREAS, since said approval of said application it has become apparent that certain projects cannot be accomplished in the year 1970 but that other beautification projects are possible, needed and desirable, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to file with the Department of Housing and Urban Development a request for an amendment to said application and grant Project No. Ky. B-1 revising the detailed schedule of beautification activities for 1970 and related sections, together with the financing schedule, and further that said amended detailed schedule of beautification activities 1970 include street paving and the construction of comfort stations in Group 1 of Paducah's Urban Beautification Plan and the landscaping and beautification of the Paducah Public Library in Group IV of said Plan, and further that for the fiscal year 1970 projected expenditures for the overall beautifi- cation program be reduced from $77,000 to $44,000. SECTION 2. That the proposed modified urban beautification activities are in accordance with the beautification program of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and are of importance to the comprehensively planned development of the locality, and that should the amendments be approved, City of Paducah, Kentucky, will undertake, carry out and complete said urban beautificqtion activities designated in said application and approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. SECTION 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to make any and all assurances required by the United States of America and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development as affects civil rights, federal labor standards and any other federal laws applicable to the grant. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
