ORDINANCE NO. 69-8-235
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF A PORTION OF AN ALLEY
LYING BETWEEN SOUTH 16TH STREET AND SHORT SOUTH 16Th STREET IN
PADUCAH, IENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO
INSTITUTE A SUIT IN THE McCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT FOR THE PURPOSE
OF HAVING SAID PORTION OF SAID ALLEY LEGALLY CLOSED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby
authorize the closing of the following set out portion of an alley
lying between South 16th Street and Short South 16th Street in the
City of Paducah, Kentucky:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot No. 8, Block 2, in
the Oakland Terrace Subdivision, said beginning point also
being the northeast intersection of the property lines of
16th Street and the existing 25 foot public alley; thence
in a northeasterly direction and along the northerly property
line of the existing 25 foot alley for a distance of 167.68
feet to a point in the westerly line of South 16th Street;
thence with an interior angle of 58 degrees 22 minutes and
in a southerly direction and along the westerly line of South
16th Street for a distance of 51.20 feet to a point; thence
with an interior angle of 42 degrees 25 minutes and in a
westerly direction for a distance of 18.93 feet to a point
in the easterly property line of the 25 foot public alley;
thence with an interior angle of 259 degrees 13 minutes and
in a southerly direction and along the said easterly line of
the 25 foot public alley for a distance of 156.63 feet to a
point marking the southwest intersection of the 25 foot public
alley with 16th Street; thence with an interior angle of 58
degrees 39 minutes and along the northerly property line of
16th Street for a distance of 29.27 feet to the point of
beginning. (The first call and the last call of the above
description makes an interior angle of 121 degrees 21 minutes.)
SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, be, and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to institute
a suit in the McCracken Circuit Court for a decree ordering the closing
of the above set out alley pursuant to the provisions of KRS 94.360.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
