A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR A TRACTOR FOR USE BY THE STREET DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, of one (1) new 1969 model tractor for use by the Street
Department, having the following specifications:
Diesel powered engine having approximately 40 H.P.
8 -speed transmission with live power take -off
Live hydraulic system with 3 -point hitch
Power -assist steering
Differential lock
Front bumper and deluxe seat
Wheel base 75 inch minimum, over-all length 128 inches maximum
13 inch minimum ground clearance and maximum over-all width of
75 inches
Standard equipment should include Tachometer -hour meter, fuel
gauge, swinging draw -bar, fenders, tool box, oil pressure
warning indicator, generator warning indicator, water
temperature gauge, two (2) head lights, tail lights, and
instrument panel lights.
Tires:
Front 550-16 4 -ply F-2
Rear 12.4-28 4 -ply R-1
Minimum over-all weight not less than 3700 pounds
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the tractor he offers for sale, and all bidders must in-
clude all applicable taxes, including but not limited to Kentucky Sales
Tax.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat not less than seven days
nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids
shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed
in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the
City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be
filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the
lowest and best bidder and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve

the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become
legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
