A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INTERROGATION OF THE COUNTY OF
McCRACKEN, KENTUCKY RESPECTING THE FORMATION OF A JOINT PLANNING UNIT
WITHIN THE PURVIEW OF CHAPTER 100 OF THE KENTUCKY REVISED STATUTES
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky have determined that the formation of a joint planning unit
with the County of McCracken, Kentucky, as authorized by Chapter 100
of the Kentucky Revised Statutes, as amended, effective June 16, 1966,
would be desirable and would be within the best interests of the
citizens of said City and said County.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD:
SECTION 1.
That the --City of Paducah, Kentucky shall forthwith interrogate
the County of McCracken, Kentucky concerning its willingness to
establish a joint planning unit within the purview of the said
Statutes, under the terms and conditions of an agreement in the form
of the copy hereto attached.
SECTION II.
That such interrogation shall be accomplished by the certification
of a copy of this resolution.and.a copy of said agreement to the
County Judge of McCracken County and to the Fiscal Court of said County
by the City Clerk.
SECTION III.
That the Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky shall be, and
he is hereby, authorized and directed to urge prompt and favorable
consideration of said proposed agreement in order that the anticipated
.joint planning unit may be established without delay, and:•'the rights and
welfare of the citizens of both the City and the County may be pro-
tected and preserved.
SECTION IV.
That the Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, shall be, and
he is hereby, authorized and directed to join in the execution of an
agreement in the form of the copy attached hereto in the event the
County of McCracken, Kentucky responds affirmatively to the said
interrogation.
SECTION V.
That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
