AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A RULE LIMITING AND PRESCRIBING
THE EXTENT OF OUTSIDE OCCUPATIONS PERMITTED FOR MEMBERS OF THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
4.1
SECTION 1. Definitions. Where used in this ordinance:
(a) The term "outside occupation" shall mean self -employ-
ment at any trade, profession or business, or any 15,14
work, labor or other services performed for any person,
firm or corporation other than regular police work
performed for the City of Paducah.
(b) The term "work day" shall mean that period of twenty-
four consecutive hours beginning eight hours before
an eight hour police work shift, and ending eight hours
after the end of said shift, regardless of whether or
not parts of two calendar days are involved.
(c) The term "week" shall mean the same as such term is
used in Section 95.495(1) of Kentucky Revised Statutes
as to the duty working hours of members of the police
department of cities of the second class.
SECTION 2. From and after the effective date of this ordinance
no member of the police department shall be permitted or allowed to
engage in any outside occupations in excess of the following limits:
(a) A total of hour hours during any work day, and
(b) A total of sixteen hours during the work days of any week.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the 1st day of June, 1966.
