A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF BACKSTOPS AT BLACKBURN PARK AND BROOKS
PARK, AND SETTING FORTH SPECIFICATIONS FOR SAME
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, be, and.he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for all.labor and_materiAls necessary for the
construction of backstops at Blackburn Park, 10th &. Caldwell Streets
and Brooks Park at 23rd and "C" Street, having the followinrr
specifications:
Blackburn Park Backstop to be 251 wide x 141 high with 4' overhang.
Post - 371 o.d. std. weight galvanized pipe set 61411 on center set
316" deep in concrete footing.
Post Holes -.10" x L' deep
Top, Center & Bottom Rail 1 5/8" o.d. galvanized structural pipe.
Winp for backstop 801 x. 1L' hirTh.
End Post - 3" o.d. std. weir -ht galvanized pipe set 3P in concrete footing.
Line Post - 2j" o.d. wei,?ht e-alvanized pipe set 3P concrete footing,
spaced on 10' center.
Top & Center Rail - 1 5/$ o.d. galvanized structural pipe
Fabric - 2" mesh x 9 va. x IL' high hot dipped galvanized after weaving.
Brooks Park Backstop to be 251 wide x 121 high with 4' overhang.
Post to be 311 o.d. galvanized pipe spaced 61L:" on center set 3)'
deep in concrete.
Post Holes - 10" x 4' deep
Top, Center E. Bottom Rail - 1 5P" galvanized pipe
Wing for backstop 251 x 12' high
End Post - 3" o.d. balvanized pipe
Line Post - V" o.d. galvanized pipe spaced 611 on center
Top & Center Rail - 15/P" o.d. galvanized pipe
Fabris 2" mesh x 9 ga. x 121 hieh hot dipped galvanized after weaving.
The bottom of the fence to be reinforced by either pipe or strong
wire in the ground to prevent the bottom of the fence from bursting
out. Each bidder shall specify which he proposes to use and shall state
the length of time necessary to complete all the work after the execution
of a contract.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids

the request for lids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than
se -en days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the
opening of bids. All bids shall he sealed and no bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All 1 -ids

opening of same shall he .filed with the Board of Commissioners who may
let a contract to the lowest and best kidder, and the Board of Commission-
ers shall reserve the richt to resect any and all bids and the City
shall not become lecally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of
an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
