A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY OF
FIFTY-FIVE SIDEARMS (PISTOLS) FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF SAID
CITY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and requested to advertise .for bids for fifty-five (55) sidearms (pistols)
for use by the members of the Police Department having the following
specifications:
50 as follows:
.38 opecial Caliher, heavy L -inch barrel
Blue finish
6 shot capacity and equal in quality to Smith -Wesson .38 Military
and Police, heavy barrel, Model No. 10.
Each back strap is to be letter in capital letters wCITY OF
PADUCAH - NO 1", with the numbers to be consecutive from
1 throurh 50.
5 as follows:
38 Special Caliber with two inch blue finish barrel
5 shot capacity and equal in quality to Smith -Wesson .38
Chiefs Special Model No. 36.
Each back strap is to be lettered in capital letters "CITY OF
PADUCAH - NO. 51", with the numbers to be consecutive
from 51 through 55.
Each bidder shall fully describe the equipment he offers for
sale, and furnish information as to all applicable guarantees, and shall
state the approximate length of time required for delivery after the
execution of a purchase contract. All prices quoted shall include or
refer to any and all applicable taxes, and shall include all fifty-five
(�5) items.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less
than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before
the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed
and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for
the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to
the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed

with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest
and best bidder, and said Board reserves the right to reject any and
all bids and.the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a
Purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
