A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, OF
THREE (3) NEW COMPACT MOTOR VEHICLES, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS
UPON WHICH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City ManaPer be, and he is hereby,
authorized and requested to advertise for bids for three (3) new
compact motor vehicles having the following srecifications:
h cylinder water cooled encine
I 2 doors
i
1 spare tire and wi-eel
it 1 bumper jack and tire or.land - lug tool
i; Turn signals
Back-up lights
Removable oil filter
Standard transmission
Heater and defroster units
Color - off white (color code - i,)
Wheel base 110 inches (minimum)
Horse power 120 (minimum)
Dual sun visors
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash .for
such vehicles, and will also state the amount he will allow as trade-in

against the purchase price .for one (1) 1960 2 -door Plymouth Savoy now

being used by the Building Inspector of said City, and one (1) 1957
one-half ton Chevrolet Pick-up truck now beinv used at the Sewame
Treatment Plant.
Each bidder shall fully describe the equipment he offers for
sale, and furnish information as to all applicable Ruarantees, and shall
state the approximate length of time required for delivery after the
execution of a purchase contract. All prices quoted shall include or
refer to any and all applicable taxes.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting, a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less
1 than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before
j the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed
and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for
the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to
the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed
With the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest
and rest hidder, and said Board reserves the right to reject any and
all bids and the City shall not become leeally oblip,ated to any bidder
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a
purchase contract.
SECTIOII 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
