AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OF
JAMES E. GRAY, IMA CRAY AND THELMA HOLLIDAY LYING ADJACENT TO THE
NORTHIVEST'CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING
ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND
DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain land of James
E. Gray, Ima Gray and Thelma Holliday lying adjacent to the northwest
corporate limits, more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed
to the City of Paducah, and that said property so proposed to be
annexed is accurately described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the present city limit
boundary at the intersection of the north line of
Buckner Lane Road with the west line of Pines Road;
thence at right angles to the north line of Buckner
Lane Road and in asoutherly direction 245 feet,
more or less with_the present city limit boundary
line to a point where the same intersects the south
line of Lot 3 in Block A of J. E. Gray's Subdivision,
a plat of which is of record in Plat Book G, page 40
in the McCracken Countv Court Clerk's office; thence
leaving the present city limit boundary line and
westwardly with said south line of said Lot 3, 58 feet,
more or less, to the east line of Pines Road as extended,
said point being the common corner between said Lot 3
and Lot 4 in said subdivision; thence southwardly and
following the west line of said Lot 4 195 feet, more or
less to a point on the north line of Exall Road where
same is intersected by the east line of Pines Road as
extended; thence westwardly across said Pines Road as
extended, and following the north line of the said
Exall Road 316..23 feet to a point on the north line of
Exall Road, common corner between the lands of Holliday
and Winkle; thence approximately North 30° East and with
the bou4dary line of Holliday and Winkle 1$3 feet, more
or less to another common corner between said parties -
thence approximately North 76 .Easb and with another
common line between Holliday and Winkle 100 feet, more or
less to the west line of the land conveyed on June 15, 1956
by Joe B. Holliday to Thelma Holliday by deed of record
in Deed Book 367, page 285 in the aforesaid Clerk's office;
thence approximately North 301 East and with the west line
of said Holliday land 245 feet, more or less, to a point on
the south line of Buckner Lane Road; thence northwardly and
at right angles to said south line of Buckner Lane Road
40 feet to a point on the north line of said road; thence
in an eastwardly direction and with the north line of
Buckner Lane Road 337 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 2. It is herehv declared that extending the boundary
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described
in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat,
a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by Section
621.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the City
Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption
of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof,
and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this

ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of
thirty days after the publication of same.
Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110
of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders
of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty days
after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit
Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting .forth the reason why said
territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and.ef.fect
from and after its adoption.
