A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY REQUESTING THE TRUSTEES OF PADUCAH JUNIOR COLLEGE
TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO INITIATE PERMISSIVE LEGISLATION
PERMITTING POSSIBLE FUTURE AFFILIATION OF PADUCAH JUNIOR COLLEGE
WITH THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROGRAM OF THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Paducah, Kentucky
together with the Commission of McCracken County have employed,
with the approval and consent of Paducah Junior College, independent
experts, namely, Dr. C. H. Lawsche of Lafayette, Indiana, Dr.
Jesse E. Hobson of Heald, Hobson and Associates of New York City,
New York, with the assistance of Spindletop Research, Inc. and
li WHEREAS, these independent consultants have been unanimous in
I their opinion that an affiliation between Paducah Junior College
i, and an institution of higher learning is essential to the future
i
I of Paducah Junior College.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
SECTION 1. That the Board of Trustees of Paducah Junior
College are hereby requested to take such immediate steps that may
be necessary to obtain permissive legislation during the current
session of the 1966 legislature for the possible future affiliation
of Paducah Junior College with the Community College System of the
University of Kentucky.
I; SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
