AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH",
WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 11, 1951,
AND AMENDED ON MAY 11, 1965
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted on December 11, 1951, and amended on
May ll, 1965, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so
that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:

"SECTION 1. The number and rank of the members of the Fire De-
partment of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided
said salaries are not chanFed by any annual apportionment ordinance
hereafter adopted shall be as follows:
Position Number of Positions Monthly Salary
Fire Chief 1 $545.00
Assistant Chief 3 455.00
Fire Prevention Inspector 2 According to Rank
Fire Captains 18 410.00
Engineers 18 360.00
Assistant Fire Prevention
Inspector 1 375.00
Firemen 41 345.00
Provided, however, that any fireman hereafter appointed during his
first year of service shall receive a salary of $325.00 per month and
upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by the
City Manager on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly salary
shall be increased to $330.00 for the second year of service, and upon
completion of the second year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City Manager on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly salary
shall be increased to the sum of $345.00."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
on and after November 16, 1965. /
