HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 775, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7-A AND 9 OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES' CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947 AND AMENDED ON APRIL 27, 1965 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,•KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Sections7-A and 9 of the "Appointive Employees' Civil Service_ -Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended on April 27, 1965, be, and they are hereby amended and reordained so that said sections as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 7-A. There is hereby created and authorized the following positions in the office of the City Assessor, which office was formerly in the Department of Finance, and the salary of each position; provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Chief Assessor, Head of Department Appraiser Clerk -typist Evaluation Clerk Salary Per Month $545.00 375.00 275.00 275.00 The Appraiser shall he paid at the rate of $375.00 per month for the first six months, and at the expiration of six months $395.00, at.the expiration of another six months $415.00 and at the expiration of two years from employment $425.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Clerk -typist shall be paid at the rate of $235.00 per month for the first six months; and at the expiration of six months $245.00 per month; at the expiration of another six months $255.00 per month; at the expiration of another six months $265.00 per month, and at the expiration of another six months $275.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Evaluation Clerk shall be paid at the rate of $255.00 per month for the first six months; at the expiration of six months $260.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months $265.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months $275.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager." "SECTION 9. There is hereby authorized and created the fol- lowing positions not assigned to any department of the City of Paducah, 775 /- .l 1'1 i✓i..1.J /, ,:6 but directly under the supervision of the City Manager, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: 776 Position City Clerk Secretary to City Manager and Mayor Social Worker Maintenance Chief of Maintenance Division No. 1 Maintenance Man Maintenance Helper (3 positions) Janitor (1 position) Assistant Janitor (2 positions) Monthly Salary $1,00.00 325.00 235.00 445.00 31:5.00 275.00 265.00 Hourly Rate 1.25 Inspections Monthly Salary Building & Electrical Inspector $520.00 Clerk -typist 275.00 The Buildinp &Electrical Inspector shall perform the duties formerly performed by the Buildinp Inspector and the Electrical Inspector, and said Building & Electrical Inspector shall be under the direct supervision of the City Mananer." No person now employed in the positions of Maintenance Helper, Janitor and Assistant Janitor shall be placed under civil service until he has successfully completed a proper examination for same and has been so placed by motion of the Board of Commissioners. SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
