AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IPJ CONFLICT HEREWITH",
WHICH :']AS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 11, 1951,
AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 22, 1963.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COb49ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted on December 11, 1951, and amended on
January 22, 1963, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so
that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1. The number and rank of the members of the Fire
Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided
said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance
hereafter adopted shall be as follows:
Position Number of Positions Monthly Salary
Fire Chief 1 $500.00
Assistant Chief 3 400.00
Fire Prevention Inspector 2 According to Rank
Fire Captains 18 350.00
Engineers 18 320.00
Fire Alarm Operators
(Same Rank as Firemen) 1 335.00
Firemen 41 305.00
Provided, however, that any fireman hereafter appointed, durinr-
his first year of service shall receive a salary of $280.00 per month
and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City Manarer on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly
salary shall to increased to $290.00 for the second year of service, and
upon completion of the second year of satisfactory service as determined
tv the City F.ararer or, recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly

2_ All ordinances and parrs of ordinances in conflict
