AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF
SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN SAID CORPORATE LIMITS
WHEREAS under an ordinance adopted May 11, 1965, the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, by and through its Board of Commissioners, proposed
to extend the boundary of the City by annerine certain property lying
adiacent to the west corporate limits of the City, which property is
hereinafter more particularly described, and
WHEREAS said ordinance proposing such annexation and declaring the
desirability of same has been published in the Sun -Democrat, a newspaper
published and distributed in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as provided
and required by KRS 424,.130 (1) (b), and
WHEREAS a period of more than thirty (30) days has elapsed since
the enactment of the aforesaid ordinance, and
WHEREAS no petition or complaint has been filed in the McCracken
Circuit Court protesting such extension of theCity Limits.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described property be annexed
to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the same being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a point where the south line of the Lone
Oak Road (U. S. Highway 1.5) as the same was established
on April 29, 19`9 by the center line of FerkinsCreek,
said point being also a corner of the present city limits
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky; thence north 490 47' 1.0"
east and continuing with the said line of said road and
the present city limit line 981:.09 .feet to a point former
northwest corner of property of Richard Smith; thence
leaving the present city limit line and south 35° 8' east
and with Smith's west line r,06 .feet to a point at the
southwest corner of the Smith property; thence north
49° 58' east and with Smith's south line 4.16.9 feet to a
point in Smith's line and corner to the present city
limits of the City of Paducah; thence south 401 12' 13"
east and with the present city limit line 236.66 feet; thence
south 270 6' east with the present city limit line 953.98'
to a point where the present city limit line is intersected
by the south line of Elmdale Road, said point being* also
the northeast corner Of the property of Paducah Newspapers,
Inc.; thence south 270 6' east with the present city limit
line and the lint of said Paducah Newspapers, Inc. property
527.66 feet; thence south 560 20" west and with the present
city limit line and the line of said Paducah Newspapers, Inc.
377.2 feet; thence south 1° 31' west and with the present
city limit line 721.1:2 feet; thence south 88° 35' east and
with the present city limit line 879.88 feet; thence north
1° 31' east and with the present cite limit line 210.01 feet;
thence north 17° 5' 20" east, with the present city limit .line
239.92 feet; thence north 29° 8' 38" east and with the
present city limit line 355.13 .feet; thence south 861 21' 24"
east and with the present city limit line 720.25 feet to a
corner of the present corporate limits of the aforesaid City;
thence leaving the present city limit line and south 30 11'
west 1559.9 feet; thence north 89° 2' 50" west 2341,.4 feet;
thence north 11 1.:1' 1•.0" east 1185 feet to a point in the
center line of Perkins Creek; thence in a northwesterl,r
direction with the center line of said creek, and .following

the meanders thereof 2250 feet, more or less, to the point
of berrinnins on the south line of the aforesaid Lone Oak Road
(U. S. Highway 1,5) as the same existed on April 28, 1959.
Beine the same property conveyed to Paducah Newspapers,
Inc. by deed of record in Deed Book 390, page 313 in
the office of the Clerk of the Countv Court of McCracken
County, Kentucky, and conveyed to Henry J. Soenneker,
Bishop of the Diocese of Owensboro, by deed of record
in DeedBook 4.36, page 3h8 in said Clerk's Office.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
