HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 585, No Resolution Number58Vol, A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF ONE AUTOMATIC UND9RGROUND PUMP STATION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the furnishing and delivery of one pumping station having the following general specifications: One complete factory -built, automatic underground pump station, with all needed. equipment factory installed and factory tested in a welded steel pump chamber with a welded steel entrance tube and with ladder to provide access. The principal items of equipment shall include two vertical, close -coupled, motor -driven non -clog sewage pumps; valves; internal piping; central control panel with circuit breakers; motor starters and automatic pumping level controllers; lighting; sump pump; motor -driven ventilator; dehumidifier and enternal wiring; and other detailed specifications as are on file in the office of the City Manager. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting_notice of the invitation for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published at least one time not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and said Board shall reserve the right to reiect any or all bids, to, waive informalities in the bidding, and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. "This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
